About the Ontario Comp-Sci Teacher Resource Centre

What is it?

Compsciteacher.on.ca is a professional development resource website for Ontario high school computer studies teachers. It consists of a growing database of teacher-contributed classroom resources in 81 various subject types and 17 different resource types. To help ensure the utmost resource integrity, teachers must register to submit and browse resources and contributed resources are thorough inspected by volunteer academic editors prior to becoming available to members.

Why do it?

Compsciteacher.on.ca was created to aid professional development among Ontario high school computer studies teachers. Many of these teachers come from non-technical backgrounds with little formal education or experience. All teachers create their own lesson plans, course outlines, teaching strategies and tutorials through their own pursuit of knowledge and overall experience in teaching such classes.

At compsciteacher.on.ca, we work to bring these knowledge-rich resources together in such a manner that new and existing teachers can browse highly categorized teaching documents, read the source documents and take that knowledge directly back into the classroom. Our ultimate objective is to increase the teaching quality of computer studies in Ontario.
